Clinging precariously to one of the hills on the edge of the Dentelles de Montmarail mountains is the village of Séguret. This fortified village lies in the shadow of a ruined feudal castle and has been deservedly name “one of the most picturesque villages in France”. The vineyards which can be traced back at least as far as the 13th century, lie on slopes above and below the village
Jean-Pierre Verdeau and his son, Christian own and manage the vineyards and the winery of Domaine de l’amandine. The Domaine cultivates 45 hectares of vines of which, 20 hectares are located in the Côtes du Rhône appellation and 10 hectares are situated within the Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret appellation.
This is a Domaine that focuses on producing quality, well priced wines. The oak-aged, syrah dominated Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret red wine exudes spice, violet fruit and texture with silky, liquorice flavours that linger on the pallet. The oak-aged Côtes du Rhône red wine delivers lifted cherry and violet fruit flavours with spice and hints of tobacco.
Domaine de l’amandine’s Côtes du Rhône white and rosé wines are fermented at low temperatures in order to preserve the fruit aromas. The white wine boasts lychee and pineapple flavours whereas the rosé emphasises strawberries and cream aromas
